A Praying Life Seminar
About the Seminar
Based on the book by the same name by Paul Miller, this seminar is a chance to be discipled in concrete ways to strengthen your prayer life. This seminar is not for victorious Christians, but Christians defeated in the trenches, asking, “How do I focus when I’m distracted with so much to do? How do I pray longer than five minutes? How do I ask when I’ve tried it before and it doesn’t work?”
Delving into our frustrations, we look at Jesus’ powerful yet simple teachings on prayer. We practice becoming child-like, patterning after Jesus’ own teaching and style of praying. We learn to ask our Father anything – with eyes wide open to the story he is creating in our lives. Further practical tools and helps are explained and demonstrated. Throughout the sessions people have time to pray, making real what they learned.
Mark your calendars for the weekend seminar at Cornerstone on “A Praying Life.” We’ll tackle practical questions on prayer and learn how to begin a private life of prayer in fellowship with our Father. All are welcome!
Dax Gibson - Seminar Leader
Dax was introduced to seeJesus and A Praying Life more than a decade ago. Since that time he has developed a passion to help people find hope in seeing Jesus and connecting to God in prayer. Dax currently serves as an Assistant Pastor at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. The seeJesus materials have been instrumental in helping Dax and his church taste and see that the Lord is good (Ps. 34:8)! He and his wife Michelle have five children ages 20 to 10...lots of opportunities for prayer!
